How to make stew in a yogurt base



The world is busy inventing yummy and healthy ways to make yogurt an integral part of our diet. While most of us may like our yogurt plain and enjoy the thrill of the cream melting in our mouths, there are some who like it flavored or use it for seasoning vegetable salads and fruit salads. Vegetable or chicken stew in a yogurt base is also a favorite among many.



Easy to make and healthy to eat, stews made in a yogurt base are filling and a meal in itself. You can try your hand at as many as 15 different types of stews in a yogurt base, of which spinach and yogurt stew is the easiest to prepare.



To make this, fry 1 medium finely chopped onion and 1 pack of chopped spinach along with 2 cups of chicken broth in 2 tablespoons of butter. Add 2 teaspoons of all-purpose flour, ⅓ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon dried tarragon, 1 pinch of powdered nutmeg and 1 pinch of ground cayenne to the spinach for flavor.

Once cooked, remove the stew from the hob and blend it in a food processor. Toss the blended soup in a pan and add a helping of all natural Sassi Lassi yogurt and cook it under moderate heat. Bring it to boil. Your spinach stew in yogurt base is ready to be served!
